The QG team had the pleasure to meet with Kenton Lee the founder of The Shoe That Grows. The Shoe That Grows is an organization that was shaped around compassion that started back in 2009 in Nampa, Idaho. It all happened when Kenton decided to go to Kenya back in 2007 where he noticed a little girl with shoes to small for her feet. He explained that children in third world countries will keep the same pair of shoes as long as they can. When these children grow out of the shoe, instead of getting a new pair, they will simply just cut the sole at the top and let their toes hang out. They do this because more than most cant afford a new pair. So Kenton had to ask himself “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a shoe that could adjust and expand – so that kids always had a pair of shoes that fit?” This was when 'The Shoe that Grows' came to life. They created a shoe for these inadequate conditions that will last each child 5 different sizes for 5 years of useful wear. The QG team was left inspired and in high spirits to help so we will be helping Kenton with what he likes to call a "Packing Party". These packing parties is where we will pull apart all the shoes from the manufacturer and put them in individual duffle
bags so they can easily be handed out. If you or anyone that you know is interested in helping out with this incredible organization then stay tuned for the date of the next packing party as well as check out the website at https://theshoethatgrows.org/index.html. Here at QG its important that we help out others in need so we will be informing you our journey with Kenton to spread awareness of this awesome organization.
